Mobile App Prototyping

Project details

What we need
  • A proof-of-concept app prototype (for either iOS or Android)
  • Documentation of the functionality and how users will use the new app

  • Consultation on how to publish and maintain the app, as well as resources for finding assistance moving forward

  • Note: The Mobile app will be a functional prototype but will not be production ready with full user experience (i.e. visual design, animation, etc).

Additional details

We need an App (Apple & Google) for a PK-8 school with the ability to easily send out reminders, info, etc., in a timely manner.

We need coaching on the submission & implementation process to Google and Apple.

What we have in place
  • We currently have WordPress site, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a staff member who is ready to get started, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $14,612 , allowing us to communicate better and more efficiently with the parents, caregivers, and supporters of our school. Our budget for anything beyond programmatic expenses is extremely limited; this app wouldn't happen.

The App will allow our administrators to get information to parents in a timely manner.

  • Volunteer Manager provides details of the product/service concept and main functionality for the mobile app
  • Professional connects with the Volunteer Manager for a brainstorming/overview session to discuss goals, mobile app concept and user stories
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager outline next steps and timeline for the project

Milestone 1: App Creation Draft & Feedback
  • Professional creates an app definition document outlining how the backend and frontend of the app will work together and discusses the document with the Volunteer Manager
  • Professional creates a rough prototype of the app and shares it with the Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager provides professional with up to two rounds of feedback

Milestone 2: Proof Of Concept Delivery
  • Professional documents the functionality of the app prototype
  • Professional answers any questions and provides recommendations for publishing and maintaining the app going forward
