Instagram Set Up & Strategy
Instagram Set Up & Strategy
Project details
What we need
- Strategy for using Instagram to engage your community, tailored to Organization’s goals and target audience
- Training on how to find and post content on Instagram
Additional details
I have been using Instagram but my posts contain a lot of words and haphazard content. I'd like to (1) post impact (2) find donors (3) reach Child Life staff in hospitals (4) gain followers, perhaps with tips or highlighting blog. I like having something distinguishing, like logo on most posts (but not all). I just got Canva, a graphic tool that was recommended, but having the tool doesn't help me change what I am doing. I am just starting with stories but don't know what to do with them . Help!
What we have in place
- We currently have Canva graphics tool and Instagram account, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have data for impact and some photos that might work, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,792 , allowing us to reach more critically ill children, adding a bit of hope, joy and warmth during their treatment. It takes time to find new hospitals and infusion clinics, so we want them to find us.
We want to grow to become a resource for parents of critically ill children. We want Child Life Specialists to know about us. We want to find business sponsors. We think these audiences are using Instagram. With fun posts that capture the eye and the proper hashtags, we might be about to find donors who want to support the children's hospital in their community.
Project plan
Our mission
The mission of Cape Ivy is to provide warmth, comfort and support to children who have chronic or critical illnesses and their families. Cape Ivy provides fleece ponchos to children in the hospital because robes, sweaters and jackets don't work well with IV lines and other medical equipment. Cape Ivy is a resource for families experiencing long-term hospitalization of children.
Testimonials
I had just received a review about our Instagram account from a some experts that included: too blurry, too wordy, too much content on a post, too busy. They suggested I used Canva, but having a tool without knowledge wasn't helpful. I turned to Catchafire to learn how to use Canva and fix up my Instagram account. Sarah applied for our project and her enthusiasm was evident from the start; so much so I didn't request a phone interview. Before Sarah and I even met, she had a detailed agenda on what I might consider - from fixing the profile logo (it was blurry), to the description, how to use the highlight section (I wasn't using it at all), how to use Canva, what to consider for content, goals for hashtags, what other accounts to looks at for inspiration, etc. After just 3 weeks and 3 or 4 phone calls, our nonprofit Instagram page is markedly better. I still have more details to learn (reels, for example) but Sarah walked me through the process and answered questions. She offered tips on growing our audience. Sarah is knowledgeable, thorough, and patient. She was easy to work with and I recommend her to other small nonprofits.
It was great working with Cindy to update Cape Ivy's Instagram account! We had great weekly conversations. Cindy was very helpful in communicating what their needs were, and we were able to come up with new ideas and make improvements. I would definitely recommend others to work with Cape Ivy!
